1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ApniNanny, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ApniNanny. "You" means any person who uses the platform — whether as a family (user), a nanny, or a visitor. "We", "us", or "ApniNanny" refers to the ApniNanny platform and its operators.
2. The Service
ApniNanny is an information platform that:
- Publishes nanny profiles built from community reviews by real families.
- Allows families to search, view, and (after verification) contact nannies directly.
- Provides a review system for families to share their firsthand experience with nannies they have employed.
- Offers optional identity verification badges (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for nannies.
ApniNanny is not an employment agency. We do not place nannies, mediate employment contracts, guarantee nanny availability or suitability, or take any responsibility for what happens after a family contacts a nanny. The decision to hire is entirely yours.
We do not conduct background checks, police verification, or criminal record checks. The verification badges (Bronze, Silver, Gold) reflect identity verification and community reviews — not a guarantee of character or suitability for childcare.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or write a review.
- Nannies must be at least 18 years old to create a profile.
- By using the platform, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
- You may not use the service if you are barred from doing so under applicable Indian law.
4. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@apninanny.in if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- One person may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
5. Rules for Families
What you may do
- Search nanny profiles and view public information.
- Write one honest review per nanny you have personally employed.
- Unlock a nanny's contact details after writing a review or purchasing a credit pack.
- Contact a nanny directly and negotiate employment terms without any involvement from ApniNanny.
What you may not do
- Write a review for a nanny you have not personally employed.
- Use a nanny's contact details for any purpose other than evaluating or hiring that nanny.
- Share, resell, or publish unlocked nanny contact details to any third party.
- Use the platform to recruit nannies for an agency, staffing company, or any commercial third party.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any nanny through information obtained on this platform.
6. Rules for Nannies
Your consent
By registering on ApniNanny (whether via the website, WhatsApp bot, or nomination), you consent to:
- Your profile being publicly visible to families searching in your city.
- Families viewing reviews written about your past employment.
- Verified families receiving your phone number and WhatsApp to contact you directly.
- Receiving WhatsApp notifications from ApniNanny about your profile activity.
Opt-out
You may permanently remove your profile at any time by sending HATAO to our WhatsApp number. Your profile, contact information, and conversation history will be deleted within 24 hours. Reviews written by others about their experience working with you may be retained in anonymised form as they reflect the family's experience, not your personal data.
Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that the information on your profile is accurate. Providing false information (fake experience, fake city, impersonating another person) will result in immediate profile removal.
7. Review Policy
What makes a valid review
- Firsthand experience only: You must have personally employed the nanny. Reviews from people who have not directly employed the nanny will be rejected.
- Factual: Reviews must describe your actual experience. Exaggeration, fiction, and speculation are not allowed.
- Minimum length: Reviews must be at least 30 characters to be considered for approval.
- One review per nanny per family: You may write one review per nanny. Duplicate reviews will be rejected.
Moderation
All reviews are manually moderated by our team before being published. We may reject or remove reviews that:
- Contain false, defamatory, or malicious content.
- Include personal information that could identify or harm a third party.
- Are submitted by someone who did not employ the nanny.
- Violate any applicable Indian law.
Disputes
If you are a nanny and believe a review about you is false or defamatory, you may raise a dispute from your profile page. We will re-examine the review within 15 business days. If we determine the review violates our policy, we will remove it. We are not obligated to remove reviews solely because you disagree with them.
Publishing a review that you know is false or defamatory may expose you to civil and criminal liability under the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. ApniNanny will cooperate with law enforcement and may share your identity in response to a valid legal order.
8. Payments & Refunds
Credit packs
Contact credit packs allow you to unlock nanny contact details. Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) inclusive of applicable taxes. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay.
No refunds — with one exception
All purchases are final and non-refundable, except in the following case: if you purchase a credit pack and the contact details you unlock turn out to be incorrect or no longer valid (e.g. the nanny has opted out), email us within 7 days and we will issue a replacement credit.
Subscription plans
Monthly and annual plans grant unlimited contact unlocks for the plan period. Subscriptions are not auto-renewed without explicit consent. There are no refunds for unused days of a subscription period.
GST
GST will be applied to all purchases as per applicable Indian tax law. A GST invoice can be requested at billing@apninanny.in.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use ApniNanny to:
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download nanny data.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the platform's technology.
- Attempt to access data or systems you are not authorised to access.
- Transmit malware, viruses, or any malicious code.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Engage in any activity that is illegal under Indian law.
- Use unlocked contact details for spam, unsolicited marketing, or any purpose other than evaluating or hiring a nanny for personal household use.
- Build a competing product using data obtained from this platform.
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension and legal action.
10. Intellectual Property
The ApniNanny platform, brand, logo, design, and all content created by us are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
Reviews submitted by users remain the intellectual property of the reviewer but you grant ApniNanny a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display, store, and moderate that content on the platform.
11. Limitation of Liability
ApniNanny provides information only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of nanny profiles or reviews, the suitability of any nanny for your household, or any outcome of your hiring decision.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, ApniNanny and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information on the platform.
- Any act or omission of a nanny you contacted through the platform.
- Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
- Platform downtime or technical failures beyond our reasonable control.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to ApniNanny in the 3 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000 — whichever is higher.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ApniNanny and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the platform in violation of these Terms.
- Your submission of false, defamatory, or unlawful content.
- Your misuse of a nanny's contact information.
- Any violation of applicable law by you.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law.
You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@apninanny.in. Deletion does not entitle you to a refund of any unused credits or subscription days.
14. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with ApniNanny, please first email support@apninanny.in. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
If the dispute is not resolved informally, it shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (as amended). The arbitration shall be conducted by a sole arbitrator agreed upon by both parties, in the English language, in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Subject to the arbitration clause above, you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka for any matter not subject to arbitration.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the website at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
